Pantheon City - Tryout Page by valstaples Pantheon City - Tryout Page by valstaples
Ever since we first starting talking over at CrossGen, Ron Marz has always tried to include me where he can on various projects.

One was his Pantheon City book that he did with artist Clement Sauve, and that was published at Dark Horse.

Well, since I was not on the project, you can see how far my tryout got me. :D
But it was stuff fun to give it a shot.

I can't find anything about this book on Mile High index or at Dark Horse proper.

Did it ever come out?

Fantastic use of separation with the colours. I think this is my favourite piece you've posted so far.

I have a style? :D
Thanks!
Although, I don't think my coloring stands out from the crowd at all.

Hell of a haul... it definitely sounds that way at first, but not really. :)
The titles are spread out, and aren't always a monthly gig.
Plus there are fill-ins from time to time.
And so forth.

I like how the cool foreground contrasts with the warm background. Most people would have chosen the opposite warm/cool configuration, but I think you definitely pulled it off. It's bold and skillfully done.

Clement is the man, and you brought it Val! I was lucky enough to sit with him last year at SDCC (all the Montreal guys were next to me and JB), and he showed me lots of this story. Just gorgeous work!

This is really beautiful. peaceful and a little bit melancholic. I love the contrast between background and foreground.
