MOTU Vol 2, Issue 5, Jonboy by valstaples MOTU Vol 2, Issue 5, Jonboy by valstaples
Jonboy Meyers' :iconjonboy007007: art is always a ton of fun.
And I was lucky that Jonboy illustrated this back cover while he worked at the MV Studio.
His art is always a thrill to color. :)

Cool to see Buzz Off front and center. Really liked that toy as a kid.

Love the uplighting, I've still never got round to using it yet in anything I've coloured... I really like Jonboy's art too.

Ahh Val thanks for posting this up--this peice really brings me back! HAHA! Man I really miss the comic--too bad Mattel was such a tool and killed the whole line of toys....

I've always wondered Man-E-Face on this one....he seems to have a monster-like face, but yet it's coloured like it's his normal face.

Was it supposed to be the monster-version, but coloured his normal warrior-face for better recognition?

It's been so long, I can't remember. :D

Man-E-Faces couldn't be the monster in an image where he's acting as a hero.
So, I dunno. Not sure if that's just how JB drew it, or if we had to tweak it to make it the human face.

He might remember. :)

I remember! HAHA It was supposed to be the Man-E-Monsters face, but I think Val thought it would be cooler to make him look more heroic and go with his normal face which was a nice surprise.

Sweeet!

I'm digging the color holds on the background/rubble. It really does a great job of bringing the characters forward!
