Back in the day, when I was pitching for the He-Man license, I was also pitching for serveral other licenses.
One of them was Army of Darkness. Robert Kirkman wrote the plot pitch, Tony Moore, Cory Walker and Matt Roberts drafted up some pitch art, and I did the leg work. Trouble is, the people we thought were the license holder, because they represented themselves as the license holder, WEREN'T the license holder and abused our inquires to get free art out of us for an Evil Dead DVD ad. We never even got the promised comps on those DVDs. *sigh* Anyway, this piece had been sitting around for years. And once Dynamic Forces found out about the art, they wanted to use it on a cover. Not sure which issue of the Army of Darkness series this was used on, but, it's one of them. Tony Moore drew it up, I colored it, and there ya go.  |

I guess my encounters are better documented than most.
Heck, there was one artist going around talking about how I screwed him when I couldn't pay for a while because CrossGen didn't pay me.
Thing is, he ghosted for someone who was working for me, so I had no idea the guy had actually worked on MVCreations stuff.
He's never brought it up to me at cons.
And I won't say his name, because I understood his frustration so I don't blame him for being upset at the time (even though I never directly hired him).
I just hope he's not doing that any more since all the artists have since been paid.
But as for the artwork, amazingly beautiful!!!
